The story began in the 14th century. Due to succession disputes the noble Tikar Queen YEN, with her children and her entourage, decided to leave her beloved country to found a new kingdom. After a long crossing from the river Mbam they were finally welcomed by a king MANKOUP.
NCHARÉ,
Son of the YEN, grew up to be a thoughtful and respected man and got the favor of his folkas well as the natives. In the African era in 5630 (1394 AD) he was installed as the 1st Mfon (Prince) at the birth of the Bamoun Empire. To expand the boundaries of his principality, Ncharé set out to conquer first the neighboring villages and then the whole region. So he went to the village
Pa
(called today Foumban),
defeated other kings of the region, built his palace and declared himself king of all Pa Mon
(Bamoun).
Later in the 18th century the 11th Mfon Mbouombouo and his brave warriors PA'RE besieged and conquered more tribes to expand the borders of the empire. Their war strategy, attacking from two fronts and thus winning, gave birth to the Bamoun Legend of the two-headed snake.
This is the inspirational origin of our twins PARÉ and NCHARÉ.
