EDING means LOVE in the language of Adiè, the indigenous people of the city of Edéa, a city of light, 65 kilometers from the economic capital of Douala. In the shade, the temperatures are regularly between 30 and 35 degrees. To forget the stifling heat, tourists, their feet in the waters of the Sanaga River, eat shrimps and mussels at will for a ridiculous price.
But the real wealth of this Cameroonian coast is the oil palm, whose products are used all over the world. Their fields extend as far as the eye can see, to several hundreds of hectares. In the evening, the city of the oldest dam in Cameroon carries darkness, because it is not sufficiently supplied with electricity.
So it might be! Eding is young and full of hope, and more important, she loves her homeland. Between the lantern and the cheerful fire, it vibrates in the sound of the tam-tam, as smooth as a vine. Dressed with her traditional dress, a cloth on her loins and chest, she simply dances and enjoys life.
